DOHA: Coach Ivan Jovanovic on Wednesday expressed absolute delight his side Al Nasr beat Qatar's El Jaish 3-0 in the opening leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals. A brace from striker Wanderley and Jonathon Pitroipa's second-half goal was enough for Al Nasr to win 3-0 at Lekhwiya Stadium. "I am very happy. This is a great result," Jovanovic said after the game. "We achieved the result that we were looking for. It was a big game and my players delivered," he said. "It was an excellent game against a top side. We exploited the chances we got to score. The difference was that we scored when it mattered," the coach added. "It was a tough game with interesting moves. The 90-minute clash was draining on the players We now have the advantage going into the second leg," the coach said. "We will try to prepare well and aim for the semi-finals. We will try not to repeat mistakes that we committed today," Jovanovic said. Sabri Lamouchi, coach of El Jaish, was not a pleased man. "I don't know what happened during the match. I am very unhappy with this result," Lamouchi said. "We started well and played okay for the first 30 minutes. I have to say it was bad night for us. We will try and not make the same mistakes and do well in the second leg. "Yes, the absence of Abdurazak Hamadallah impacted our plans. That was a big loss. He is injured. We have to find solutions before the next game," he said. "We have only one game and we must create chances, score and win," he said. "My players need to take the opportunities they get to score," the El Jaish coach said. The second leg will be played on September 14 in Dubai.
