The line up for the Round of 16 of the 2016 AFC Champions League is complete as the curtain came down on a thrilling Group Stage on Wednesday.
As the dust settles following the final round of Matchday 6 games three former ACL winners remain in the hunt for Asian club football’s biggest prize - including inaugural champions Al Ain - while a number of continental giants have failed to make the cut, with 2015 winners Guangzhou Evergrande finishing third in their group behind 2007 champions Urawa Reds and table-topping Sydney FC.
Melbourne Victory ensured both A-League sides made it through to the last 16 while Uzbeks Lokomotiv and Al Nasr of the UAE both made it to the knockout stage for the first time in the history, taking the top two spots in Group A ahead of two-time ACL winners Al Ittihad and former finalists Sepahan.
