DOHA: Lekhwiya held Iran’s Zobahan goalless in Tehran to collect their first point in the 2016 AFC Champions League. The Qatar Stars League champions had lost 0-1 to Zobahan in their opening meeting in Doha. Qatar’s other representative El Jaish began their campaign on a winning note earlier last week, putting it past Al Ain 2-1. Jaish will host the UAE side on Wednesday. Meanwhile, China’s record signing Alex Teixeira scored his opening goal as big spenders Jiangsu Suning got off the mark with a tense 3-2 win over South Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. Teixeira, a €50m signing from Shakhtar Donetsk, grabbed the opener in what was Jiangsu’s first win of the tournament on Tuesday. Earlier, Brazilian goal-machine Adriano made it seven goals in just two AFC Champions League games as FC Seoul destroyed Sanfrecce Hiroshima 4-1 to stay top of Group F. Adriano, who had smashed four in their 6-0 demolition of Buriram United, plundered another hat-trick as the Korean FA Cup holders roared back from a goal down.
