DOHA: Lekhwiya's feared striker Nam Tae-hee was named QFA Player of
the Year at a glittering ceremony on Saturday.
Tae-hee edged Al Sadd star Xavi and Al Sadd forward striker Hassan Al
Haydos to claim the prestigious award.
The 25-year-old Korean picked up the shining Player of the Year trophy
from QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Thani.
Tae-hee scored 14 goals for Lekhwiya who went on to win the Qatar
Stars League (QSL) title for the fifth last month.
It was a night to savour for Al Sadd as Emir Cup winning manager
Jesualdo Ferreira was named Coach of the Year.
Portuguese Ferreira helped Al Sadd win the Qatar Cup and the
prestigious Emir Cup on Friday.
QFA President said: "It has been a great season for some of the teams
and players. I applaud the performances of Nam-tae Hee and the Al Sadd
team for doing so well."
He added: "It has been a season to remember. We got to see some great
performances and some spectacular football. For Al Sadd, it was a
great season. At the same time, we wish the teams good luck next
season.”
The program was hosted by popular Bein sports presenter Sadoon Al Kuwari.
