BHUTAN: Qatar strikerMohammed Muntari on Tuesday praised the
performance of his team against Bhutan after a convincing 3-0 win at
Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu.
Playing on artificial turf, Muntari opened the scoring as Qatar won the
2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup joint qualifying match with
a 3-0 scoreline.
Mohammed Muntari scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute.
“I am happy with this performance. It was a tough match as it was very
cold” he said.
“We remained the dominant side. We hope we can carry forward this
rhythm to our next match which will be played in March next year,” the
Lekhwiyastriker said.
“The coach had planned well for this match. We could have scored more
goals but overall I am happy with the performance of my side,” he
added.
Qatar are no unbeaten in six qualifying wins with victories over
Maldives, Hong Kong and China besides Bhutan.
Hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar have never qualified for the World Cup.
