DOHA: Riyadh Nasser scored the only goal of the match in the 47th minute as Al Markhiya edged past Al Shamal in a hard-fought battle in their Qatargas League clash. In the tense match, Nasser's goal helped Al Shamal pick up three points in the match played at Al Khor Stadium. Third-placed Al Markhiya now have a tally of 14 points. In another clash, Al Arabi played a 2-2 draw against Umm Salal who were enjoying a 2-0 cushion at one point of the match. Jameel and Aziz scored the two goals for Umm Salal. But Mohammed Shabaan and Mohammed Khalfan helped Al Arabi share the points. Al Arabi are in sixth place with 12 points. Meanwhile, Muaither stunned Lekhwiya 3-0 at Al Sailiyah Club. Mohammed Salim (11), Sadiq Ali (23) and Mahmoud Salim (84) scored the goals for Muaither. Muaither now has a tally of 14 points, a notch behind Qatar SC in the points table.
