DOHA: An investment firm will market two high profile events set to be
launched by the newly-formed Gulf Football Federation, it emerged on
Wednesday.
The Gulf Cup will be played along side a Gulf Champions League and a
Gulf Cup, details showed on Wednesday.
The Annual General Assembly (AGM) of Qatar Football Association (QFA)
on Wednesday said it will back the formation of Gulf Football
Federation.
Said Saud Al Mohannadi, Vice-President of QFA, the office of the new
body will be based in Doha.
"In addition to the hugely popular Gulf Cup, two new tournaments will
be added to the regional calendar," Al Mohannadi said.
"The next step would be to work on the rules and regulations of new
events," he added.
He said the new events would be marketed and promoted professionally
to take the tournaments to all corners of the region.
Al Mohannadi said more information would be released during the 23rd
Gulf Cup to be held in Kuwait later this year.
