DOHA: In a keenly-fought game on Thursday, Oman beat Kuwait 2-1 in a
Group A match of the GCC U-17 Championship at Aspire Academy.
Thamer Al-Zeabi gave Oman the lead in the 29th minute.
In the 34th minute, Mustafa Al-Bakri made it 2-0 for Oman.
However, Kuwait reduced the deficit through Mohammed Al-Shiwari in the
83rd minute as Oman saw out the last few minutes with ease.
The tournament continues on Saturday with two more matches.
The semi-finals of the nine-day event will be played on August 27.
The final of the event will be played on August 29.
