DOHA: In a dramatic finish, Al Matar held their nerve to beat Al Quds
in a penalty shoot-out to lift the Qatar Amateur Cup trophy at Doha
Stadium.
Al Matar won the tense final 4-3.
Ahmed Al-Buainain, Board Member of the QFA's Executive Committee,
handed over the trophies and medals to the players after the final.
The prize distribution ceremony was also attended by Abdullah Al
Saiee, Director of Competitions and Players Affairs, and Hilal Al
Mohannadi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Schools,
Universities and Amateur clubs.
A large crowd turned up for the final game.
The two teams qualified for the final after Amwaj and Ezdan were
beaten in the semi-finals.

Al Quds and Al-Ahli teams managed to qualify for the semi-finals of
the Cup after beating Al Waab 3-1 in penalty shootout.
The two teams qualified for the quarter-finals after Al Quds finished
second in Group B with six points, while Al Matar were the leaders of
Group C with seven points.
The tournament featured 16 teams which were drawn across four groups.
