Qatar coach names squad ahead of key qualifiers

DOHA: Qatar coach Daniel Carreno on Wednesday recalled veteran striker Sebastian Soria as he named his squad for two 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying games. Qatar, who take on Bhutan and Hong Kong on September 4 and 8 respectively, have returned from a two-week European training camp. The Maroons will also play a friendly against Singapore on August 28, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on Thursday. Carreno also recalled Khoukhy Bualem along with Soria as Qatar prepared to take on Singapore on Friday. Qatar beat Maldives 1-0 in their opening World Cup qualifying campaign.
