DOHA: Qatar Team Director Fareed Mahboub on Tuesday remained confident
about the national team's chances in the third and final stage ofqualifying for
the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
On Tuesday, Qatar were drawn in Group A that also includes Iran, Korea
Republic, Uzbekistan, China and Syria.
Group B includes Australia, Japan, Saudi Arabia , the United Arab
Emirates, Iraq and Thailand.
"There's not much difference in the two groups. Asia's finest teams
have reached this stage of qualifying," Mahboub said on Tuesday.
"What we will be looking at this stage is that we arrive prepared for
each game," Mahmood said.
"Our schedule of training sessions and practice games have been
prepared with that in mind.
"We know that Qatari football fans want the team to reach the World
Cup," he said.
"It will be very demanding for sure but we will be ready," he said.
"We will cover all bases to be at our best when the first game day
arrives," he said.
"We are confident that our players will be ready too," the former
international said.
