VALENCIA: Qatar on Friday continued training at the International
Friendly U-20 Tournament where Argentina is showing indomitable
form.
Qatar, who lost to Argentina in their opening clash at the 10-team
event, face Costa Rica on Monday.
Argentina will take ob Costa Rica on Sunday.
The two remaining games in the group will determine who tops
the group and reach the semifinals.
Oscar Cano is coaching Qatar squad.
Saeed Al Marri, head of Qatar delegation in Spain, said: “We are
getting better. We are facing tough teams. That’s what we wanted
to do.”
He added: “We have long-term plans with this squad. We are doing
everything so that the players arrive in pristine condition for the AFC
Asian U-20 Cup in Bahrain.”
Qatar are the defending champions of the Asian U-20 title they won
in Myanmar in October 2016.
“Qatar players are getting the exposure they were looking for. The
tough matches they play here will make them better players,” Al
Marri said.
The tournament ends on August 4.
