MANAMA: Qatar Exited the 2015 Huawei championship for GCC
U-23 teams following a goalless draw against the United Arab
Emirates on Tuesday.
Having lost to Kuwait 0-3 in their opening group match, Qatar
finished the group in third place and will take on hosts Bahrain
in the fifth place decider next Thursday.
Qatar were placed in Group B alongside Kuwait and UAE, while
Group A consisted of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.
The Gulf Under-23 Championship is currently being held in
Bahrain from January 16 to 26.
It is worth mentioning that the Qatar squad has played two
friendlies against Kyrgyzstan and South Africa earlier this
month.
