LINZ: Despite scoring the first goal of the match, Qatar on Sunday
went down 3-1 to Albania in an international friendly.
Coached by Daniel Carreno, Qatar scored the opening goal of the match
through Abdelkarim Hassan who fired a left-footed shot from the centre
of the box to the bottom left corner in the second minute of the game.
In the 23rd minute, Arlind Ajeti of Albania equalised with a
right-footed shot from a difficult angle on the right to the top left
corner of the Qatar goal.
In the 40th minute, Ermir Lenjani helped Albani take lead with a goal
from close range. Albania's third and final goal was scored by Armando
Sadiku in the 64th minute.
Carreno made numerous changes in the game allowing his players match
practice time.
Qatar will play three more internationals in August ahead of their
2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Iran on September 1.
Qatar are currently preparing for the summer qualifying campaign
following an impressive form in the first phase.
