DOHA: Qatar face Iraq in an international friendly at Jassim Bin Hamad
Stadium on Monday.
The game against Iraq will be Qatar's first of four friendlies this month
before the national side takes on Iran in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying
game on September 1.
Coached by Daniel Carreno, Qatar kicked off training sessions earlier
this week.
It is expected that coach Carreno will give all his boys a run in the coming
games to test their fitness ahead of their September 1 clash against Iran.
Following the Iraq game, Qatar will fly to Zurich for a training camp from
August 10 to 20.
During the Swiss training camp, Qatar will play against Real Betis in
a friendly game.
Qatar face Jordan on August 18 before returning to Doha. On August
25, Qatar host Thailand in their last friendly before the Iran clash in
Tehran.
Other teams in Qatar's World Cup qualifying group include China, South
Korea, Uzbekistan and Syria.
The other Asian group includes Iraq, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE
and Thailand.
