MANAMA: Qatar are ready to put on a competitive show at this week'sGCC Futsal Championship, Futsal and Beach Football DirectorAbdullah Al Saai said on Monday.
Qatar are one of the five sides competing for honours at the March 10-19 event.
"We are ready for the event as we have arrived well prepared," Al Saai said.
Qatar face Saudi Arabia in the event's opening clash on Tuesday.
"We had a training camp in Italy where we underwent intense practice sessions ahead of this event," he added.
"QFA spares no effort to prepare the national sides at all levels and it was the same with the futsal side as well," he said.
Abdullah thanked QFA Secretary General Mansoor Ansari in supporting team's preparations plans in Italy.
"We have a fine mix of youth and experience. I think the players can't wait for the event to begin," he said.
"For the young players, this is an important event as they will get experience of playing top events
"Our targets are the Futsal World Cup and the Asian Cup qualifiers. We will take each game here with absolute seriousness," he added.
"We hope we get plenty of support from our fans as it is an important element in building a strong squad," he said.
