DOHA: Qatar Sports Club won promotion to the Qatar Stars League
after defeating Al Shahaniya 1-0 in the relegation play-off at the
Lekhwiya Stadium on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Gamal scored the all-important goal in the 61st minute when
his cross from the right side found the target, with Shahaniya keeper
Jassim Adil beaten by the trajectory of the ball.
Tempers flared in added time as three red cards were shown to Mohamed
Salim (Qatar SC) Eduardo Santos (Shahania) and Ali Awad (Qatar SC) after
a scuffle.
Markhiya were promoted as Qatargas League champions. Al Wakrah, Muaither
and Shahaniya were relegated this time.
