Kuala Lumpur: Qatar Football Association (QFA) Secretary General Mansoor Al Ansari on Tuesday said he was confident that 'Al Anabi' will make a tremendous impact when it kicks off the third and final qualifying campaign that could lead to a berth at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.
On Tuesday, Qatar were drawn in Group A that also includes Iran, Korea Republic, Uzbekistan, China and Syria.
"Nobody can say it is an easy group but a balanced one. Asia's best teams have qualified for this stage," Al Ansari said on Tuesday.
"We are going according to a plan. We are confident of implementing our plans whether we are playing against Iran in Iran or any other side on any venue," he added.
"Our target is to reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup and we are doing everything we can. We will be ready to play against any team in our group," Al Ansari said.
"The national squad will get every assistance to get good results on the field of play.
"We are continuously developing our football - whether it is about having teams at every level of improving infrastructure or helping get quality referees.
"We are a work in progress at so many different levels. We are working together with AFC and FIFA to constantly develop our football," he said in reference to a referees' workshop that is currently on in Doha.
