DOHA: Qatar's youth football team lost 1-2 against their English counterparts
in a friendly played at the Aspire Academy.
The match was scheduled as part of the preparation of the Qatar Under-19
squad for the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers.
England striker Samuel scored twice (14, 86). Qatar's only goal came from
defender Yusuf Ayman in the 45th minute.
The Qatari team missed a penalty when Abdul Rashid Ibrahim couldn't
score off the spot kick in the final minute of the match.
Qatar coach Bruno Miguel ringed changes by giving valuable match practice
to Hashem Ali, Abdul Rashid Ibrahim, Nasser Abdel Salam, Nasser Al Kaabi
and Khalid Walid in the second half.
The Qatar squad started in an indoor camp from Sunday. The training camp
continues until Monday with a second friendly game with England.
