Qatar U-19s set to resume training

DOHA: Qatar U-19 squad on Sunday will resume their training camp on home soil, it was announced on Saturday. Qatar U-19 squad - coached by Oscar Cano - is preparing for the AFC Asian U-19 Cup to be held in Bahrain in October this year. The training camp will continue for almost a month before Qatar takes on China in a friendly in Doha. Cano on Saturday announced a batch of 25 players that does not include players active abroad. Following the friendly against China, Qatar squad will move to France for a training camp between May 20 to 25. During the training camp in France, Qatar juniors play afriendly against Anderlecht followed by a game against Austria. "We have scheduled a busy period of training camps with friendlies so that Qatar players get ample practice before we go to Bahrain for the AFC Asian U-19 Cup. We are the defending champions and we want to be at our best," a team official said. During the last three months, Qatar have played friendlies against Ivory Coast, Costa Rica and Croatia withimpressive showings.
