DOHA: Qatar played a goalless draw against Thailand in friendly,
details showed on Wednesday. The two sides played the friendly in
preparation for the U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers to be held next year in
July.
Coached by Felix Sanchez, the Qatar team played attacking game for
most past of the game. The Qatari youngsters missed a couple of easy
chances to score in the friendly.
In the second half, Qatar players traded a fair number of attacks but
Thai players defended well to keep the slate clean.
The Qatar juniors will assemble next month to continue their training
for future games, team officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Felix guided the U-19 side to the AFC Asian Cup glory in October 2014
before taking the same side to the U-20 FIFA World Cup which was held
in New Zealand in June 2015.
