DOHA: As part of its summer training camp in Austria, the Qatar Olympic Team is set to play its first friendly against Malaga B on Monday 16 August, in preparation for the 1st WAFF U-23 Championship and AFC U-23 Championship which serves as the qualifiers for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio Di Janeiro.
It will be the first test for the team under the leadership of Spanish coach Felix Sanchez in which they will face the Spanish team at 6pm (Doha Time) in the Austrian city of Bad Waltersdorf.
It is expected that the Coach will provide an opportunity to many players on his list to play during the match, especially as it’s the first match in which he will be able to identify the potential of a large number of players and ensure their readiness for the next period.
It is worth mentioning that QFA has a longstanding relationship with Malaga FC, as they played against the Qatar National Team last year, and Lekhwiya two days ago at the Costa Del Sol Cup.
