DOHA: Al Shamal crushed Muaither 5-1 in their Qatargas League match
over the weekend when a string of intense battles were fought across
football pitches in the country.
Seeking a promotion to Qatar Stars League (QSL) - the top tier
football league in the country - Al Shamal won the fifth-round clash
easily at Al Wakrah Stadium.
Tommy Rese scored two goals while Ali Fareeduddin, Jose Harison and
Mohammed Haris fired one each for Al Shamal.
For Mauither, the deficit was reduced by Mohen Hussaini.
Sultan Salim of Al Shamal was red carded in the match. For Muaither,
Abdulrahman Nasser, Ahmed Mohammed Shahi, Mohsen Abdullah and Zafar
Hassan Al-Qahtani got booked by the referee.
Al Shamal now have seven points while Muaither are stranded at 6.
In another game, Al Rayyan edged Al Kharaitiyat 2-1 after goals by
Abdulrahman Karbi and Khalifa Almasvari.
Al Rayyan gave 8 points while Al Kharaitiyat failed to add to their tally of 6.
In the third game of the week, Al Arabi crushed Al Sadd 5-0 after
goals from Ibrahim Nasir (two goals), Wagner (two goals) and a solo
strike by Mohamed Ibrahim Khalfan.
Al Sadd have 4 points while Al Arabi have three points.
In other games, Al Wakrah beat Al Ahli 2-0 after goals by Abdulrehman
Massa and Ahmed Kahil.
Al Wakrah have 7 points while Al Ahli have 10.
In the day's last encounter, Al Gharafa beat Al Khor 5-1 at Al Wakrah Stadium.
