DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Shell recently
organised a two-day coaching clinic in preparation for the launch of
the fourth season of Il’Ab We’Yana, an extra-curricular football
programme targeted at boys and girls aged 7-16 years.
Il’Ab We’Yana is based on FC Barcelona Foundation’s FutbolNet
methodology and provides children with an extra 100 hours of
extra-curricular physical education.
Over 45 local coaches from the QFA and Qatar Women’s Sports Committee
(QWSC), including Qatari men and women, attended the seminar. The
seminar focused on six teaching modules that address healthy living.
Il’Ab We’Yana is part of the award winning KOORA TIME initiative
created by the QFA and Qatar Shell.
Since its launch in 2013, KOORA TIME has received three accolades that
recognise the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative’s
positive impact on Qatar.
The awards include the ‘2014 AFC Dream Asia Award’, ‘Best Youth
Development Initiative’ at the 2014 Sports Industry Awards, and ‘Best
Sports Initiative’ at the 2014 Dar Al Sharq CSR Awards.
