DOHA: Fahad Thani, Director of Development at Qatar Football
Association (QFA), on Thursday detailed plans for the new season
for the youth side.
Fahad Thani also unveiled the calendar of the new season for Qatar
junior sides and clubs.
During a press conference at Aspire Academy, Thani joined QFA
officials of the Competitions Committee in detailing the plans of the
new season.
Football officials of the Aspire Academy were also present during the
press conference attended by the local print and television.
Fahad Thani said the new season would commence in September
and is scheduled to end next May.
He said competitions in the U-17 and U-19 categories would start
on September 17.
For players born in 1999, 2000 and 2001, competitions would begin
early October.
An international U-16 competition is slated to be held between Jan
22 to 31, 2017, it was announced.
Fahad Thani said the new season calendar has been finalised keeping
in mind the national team requirements.
