DOHA: The Appeals Committee of the Qatar Football
Association (QFA) heard a plea from QNB- Stars League
side Al Markhiya over the reversal of the result of their
opening league match against Al Sadd.
Following detailed discussions heard by a panel consisting
of Ibrahim Al Nisf, Hassan El-Khoury, Nasser Al Mohannadi
and Khalid Al Rumaihi, it was decided that the 3-0 win result
for Al Sadd was upheld in addition to the 10,000 Q.R fine
imposed on Al Markhiya by the disciplinary committee.
Al Sadd lost to Al Markhiya in the opening round of QNB
Stars League but the winning side fielded ineligible player
Saleh Mohammed Al Yazidi, who was sent off during his last
game in the previous season.
