DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) officials spent a day with
young patients at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
Hamad Abdullah Al-Kuwari, COO of QFA, was joined by a number of
officials as QFA team met with cancer-stricken kids at HMC.
Senior HMC officials greeted the QFA team at the hospital.
The QFA officials interacted with kids as they were shown around the
children's ward.
QFA team also distributed gifts and souvenirs among children,
officials said on Thursday.
Al Kuwari said: "QFA will continue to be part of a programe in which
we can engage young kids and talk to them about sports and general
health matters.
“Our participation to mark this important day stems from our responsibility
towards the community as it is our duty to fight together against this disease.
Our aim is to put a smile on the face of these strong children and give them
hope for the future. It’s important to remind the children we have met today
that having strong willpower to fight this illness will help them in overcoming
this deadly disease.”
He then concluded: "Sport is for everyone. We want young and old to be
healthy and happy"
