QFA President attends Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting

DOHA: QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani on Tuesday headed the Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting (AGM) at the Diplomatic Club. The AGM was also attended by Saud Abdulaziz Al-Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA, along with Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Buainain, Ibrahim Khalil Al-Muhannadi, Hani Talib Blan, Ali Abdullah Al-Thawadi and Mansour Mohammed Al Ansari, the Secretary General of QFA. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the 18 football clubs in addition to the directors of various QFA departments, heads of departments and employees of QFA and a number of media professionals from the print and television mediums. The QFA President gave the welcoming speech during which he congratulated Saud Al-Mohannadi on his return to work after FIFA lifted the unfair suspension. The QFA chief also congratulated the Al Markhiya team on winning the second division title that secured their entry to the Qatar Stars League (QSL) for the next season. He wished success to Qatar SC and Al Shahaniya who will be playing a play-off match on Wednesday to decide which team gets a slot in the QSL next season. During the meeting, the agenda of the meeting held on December 16 was unanimously adopted and endorsed. A permanent committee for financial oversight was also approved by the General Assembly members. The Extraordinary General Assembly members approved the formal amendment of replacing the name players agents to mediators and the deletion of article 82 on transitional procedures for the election of two additional members of the Executive Committee.
