QFA President attends national team training

DOHA: QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani on Saturday attended the national team training session at Lekhwiya Stadium.

The QFA President met with coach Jorge Fossati and engaged the national team players in a brief chat session.

Qatar are preparing to face Iran in a 2017 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on March 23 in Doha.

Five days later, Qatar visit Uzbekistan for another qualifier.

A team official said the QFA President met the players to give them confidence ahead of what will be two key games for the national side.

Qatar players resumed training on Friday following a short break.

The Qatar squad has been busy preparing for the Iran game by studying video analysis.

Qatar squad is also scheduled to play a friendly against the national Olympic squad at Al Sadd Stadium on Monday.

The squad will continue training in the coming days, the team official said.
