QFA President heads Executive Committee meeting of GFF

DOHA: The President of Qatar Football Federation (QFA) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, presided over the first meeting of the newly-established Gulf Football Federation (GFF). The region's top football officials were present at the meeting held at Four Seasons Hotel. Ali Albuainain of Bahrain, Mohammed Al Nosair of Saudi Arabia, Saleh Al Farsi of Oman, Tariq Ahmed of Iraq and Hamid al-Shaibani of Yemen also attended the meeting. Sheikh Hamad welcomed the guests and underlined the serious intent of GFF to develop the game across the region. In the meeting it was decided to appoint Jassim Al Rumaihi the new Secretary General of GFF. Also, it was decided that the new Football Committee will have three people making decisions - Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani with Marwan bin Ghalaita and Hamid al-Shaibani as members. QFA President said the meeting was held in a very cordial manner with all officials expressing the need to take the game forward in the region. Sheikh Hamad congratulated the new office bearers, wishing them success in their new work portfolios. He said the formation of the committees was a key moment of the meeting. The QFA President said decision-making is swift when right people are at the right jobs. Sheikh Hamad also congratulated Al Rumaihi on becoming the Secretary General.
