DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad
bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani received the President of the South
American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) Mr. Alejandro Dominguez
in his office, details revealed.
The two officials discussed matters relating to football in Qatar and
the region besides exchanging notes on the 2022 FIFA World Cup to
be held in Qatar.
It was announced that CONMEBOL and QFA will continue to work together to
develop the game of football even beyond 2022.
In addition, Mr. Dominguez at the Pavilion legacy tour, where he was
given an overview of the progress opportunities available to work on
the different projects in Qatar in the coming years.
Following the official meeting, Mr. Dominguez and his accompanying
delegation were then given an exclusive tour of Al Bidda Tower’s ‘Legacy
Pavilion’ – which brings to life the plans for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™.
The South American delegation also made stops at Aspire Sports Academy,
Aspetar (Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital) and the soon to be
opened state of the art national teams club.
