DOHA: QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed
Al-Thani will head to the Omani capital Muscat Tuesday morning
for the first leg of a Gulf tour that will also take him to Kuwait
and Saudi Arabia.
The agenda of the Gulf visit will see QFA President discussing
cooperation and means of enhancing relationship with regional
countries.
The discussions will also revolve around Qatar hosting the 23rd
Gulf Cup later this year.
He is scheduled to meet with the President of the Omani Football
Federation, Salim bin Saeed Al Wahaibi, and discuss ways and
means to develop football in both countries.
A number of topics of mutual interest will be discussed, as well
as means of enhancing the cooperation between the Qatari and
Oman Football Associations for the benefit of regional football.
The travel schedule also includes a visit to the Kuwaiti capital
Kuwait City where he is also scheduled to meet His Excellency
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and other officials
of Kuwaiti football.
The visit is aimed primarily at discussing the latest developments
regarding the Kuwaiti football file and discussing ways to support
the lifting of FIFA sanctions.
Qatar supports lifting of the sanctions imposed by the world body
so that Kuwait could appear in the Gulf Cup to be held in Doha.
The Gulf tour will conclude with QFA President arriving in the Saudi
capital Riyadh where he will meet with prince Abdullah bin Musa'ed
bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, General President of Youth Welfare on Wednesday.
He returns to Doha the next day.
