DOHA: A wide-ranging discussion was held on Wednesday on Qatar Stars League's (QSL) development strategy in the presence of QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani.
Members of local media were also present, as were the officials of QFA and QSL. The gathering aimed to exchange opinions, ideas and discussions.
The lengthy session witnessed a fruitful dialogue among the attendees, which varied between various proposals and the viewpoints to present a more competitive football competition that would benefit Qatari national teams in the future.
The discussions also aimed to effectively enrich the present football structure and ensure excellent representation of Qatari clubs at continental competitions.
The session included a detailed introduction to the strategy, which includes four key points:
A: Reducing the number of Qatar Stars League clubs from 12 to 10 in the 2024/2023 season.
B: Forming a central scout team
C: An agreement for a new event involving First and Second Division clubs
D: Working on a new mechanism for distributing revenues among the clubs
