Real Madrid crowned Al Kass International Cup champions

DOHA: The Real Madrid Under-17s have been crowned champions at thesixth edition of the Al Kass International Cupin Doha . Madrid ran out 2-0 winners over Aspire Academy in the showpiece to cap off a fine tournament, in which they topped their group and saw off Kashiwa Reysol and Eintracht Frankfurt in the knockout stages. The outcome of the final was only decided after the break following an evenly- matched first half in which there were barely any chances of note at either end. The first opportunity went the way of Aspire after a towering header from a corner crashed against the upright. Later on. on 26' and on 39',Baezaand Sanse came close to breaking the deadlock for the U17s with efforts that flew narrowly wide. After the restart, the madrisitas pinned the Qatar outfit back into their own half and made the breakthrough on 78'. José Antonio it was who got the goal, after preventing Aspire from playing the ball out from the back after a fine piece of play from Marvin down the right flank. With two minutes remaining, Casasdoubled Madrid's advantage with a fine strike from outside the box. These two goals see Real Madrid win this tournament for the first time, after having finished as runners-up up in 2014 and 2016.
