DOHA: Brazilian striker Romarinho on Saturday produced a scintillating
performance by managing a hattrick to lift El Jaish into the
semifinals of the Emir Cup.
El Jaish won 5-3 at Lekhwiya Stadium where Romaringo scored once in
the first half (33) and twice in the second half (46 and 50) to seal
his team's impressive day.
Romarinho scored his first goal off an indirect corner kick followed
by a powerful shot from inside the Umm Salal box for his second
strike.
Romarinho headed home for his third goal in the second.
Sardor Rashidov, El Jaish's Uzbek striker, scored in the 9th minute
while Abderazzaq (90) managed a late goal for the winners.
Mahmoud Al Mawas (52), Sagbo (61) and Ibrahima Naday (90 + 1) scored
the goals for Umm Salal but it was El Jaish - coached by Sabri
Lamouchi - all the way on Saturday.
In the semifinals, El Jaish will now play Al Sadd while Al Rayyan take
on Lekhwiya in the other last-four clash.
The final of the Emir Cup will be played at Khalifa International
Stadium on May 19.
