DOHA: Striker Romarinho on Sundayscored three goals insix minutes as El Jaish crushed Al Ahli 4-2 to reach the semifinalsof the Emir Cup. Congolese striker Ndombe Mubele opened the scoring for AlAhli by taking a well-placed penalty kick in the 15th minute atAbdulla Bin Khalifa Stadium. After numerous attempts going waste, ElJaish found the equaliserthrough Ali Sanad in the last few seconds of the first half. Sanad firedfrom close range to bring delight in El Jaish's camp. Soon after the resumption of play, El Jaish took the lead throughRomarinho who clipped the ball into an empty net following agoalkeeper's gaffe from Al Ahli in the 51st minute. Two minutes later, Romarinho scored his second and EL Jaish'sthird goal with a solo run into Al Ahli box where he quickly slottedthe ball home. In the 57th minute, Romarinho scored his thirdgoal. Mubele flicked one from close range to reduce the deficit in the82nd minuteEarlier in the evening, Lekhwiya edged past Al Sailiyahwhen Youssef Msakni fired home a late equaliser in the 87th minute. Lekhwiya, seeking their maiden Emir Cup title, looked relievedwhen the referee blew the final whistle. El Jaish and Lekhwiya will renew their rivarly when the two sidesmeet in the semifinal, another mouthwatering contest betweenthe two sides will be in the knockout stage of the Asian ChampionsLeague knockout phase in a little over a week. The Emir Cup final will be played on May 20.
