DOHA: Visitors Saudi Arabia on Thursday beat Qatar 4-1 after the hosts
took the lead on the opening day of the GCC U-17 Championships.
Qatar's Hashim Abdul Latif gave the home side the lead in the 4th
minute but the visitors hit back soon as Aspire Academy.
Dhari Sayar (32), Mohamed Mansour (38), Mohammed Mansour (42 and 85)
also scored for the visitors.
Both sides made changes in the second half.
On Saturday, Saudi Arabia will tackle the UAE while Oman battle
Bahrain on August 22.
On the third match day on August 24, Qatar play the UAE in their
second clash of the tournament. The same day Kuwait play Bahrain.
The six teams are divided into two groups.
Group A includes Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
In Group B, Qatar is tagged along with Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The semi-finals of the nine-day event will be played on August 27.
The all-important title clash will take place on August 29.
