DOHA: Qatar striker Al MuizAli on Wednesday said his team mates were
feeling confident ahead of their AFC U-23 Championship quarterfinals
against North Korea on Friday.
Hosts Qatar stormed into the quarterfinals after posting wins against
China (3-1), Iran (2-1) and Syria (4-2).
"We are delighted to be in the quarter-finals," Ali said on Wednesday
after a training session.
"We had excellent results in the first round," Ali said. "We played
tough matches against quality sides," the striker said.
"The second round will be all the more tougher since it is a knockout
phase of the event," Ali said.
The top three sides at the 16-team will reach the football competition
at the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro.
"Koreans play tough football but we will be ready for this clash. We
have worked hard in the last so many months," he said. "I guess all
knockout stages are tough," he said.
