DOHA: Feared striker Khalfan Ibrahim has signed a one-year deal with Qatar Stars League (QSL) giants Al Arabi, details showed on Monday. Ibrahim, who also plays for Qatar national side, will train with his new team-mates in the coming days, it emerged on Monday. One of the most prominent players in the country, Ibrahim had lately been missing games following his injury that also kept him out of the national side. Ibrahim signed the contract on Monday in the presence of Jassem Mohammed Al Kuwari, vice president of the club, and Adel Mohammed Al Busairi, manager of the club’s football team. The club said Khalfan will join the team’s first training session on Monday evening. Ibrahim’s signing ends speculation that the star striker would also being considered by Al Ahli, Al Gharafa and Al Sailiyah. The 29-year-old chose Al Arabi as his new team, the club confirmed on Monday. Khalfan returns to his old team where he began his career (1998-2004) as a striker before being signed by Al Sadd.
