DOHA: Al Rayyan's returning talisman Rodrigo Tabata produced a scintillating
display to help Al Rayyan's seemingly unstoppable surge towards clinching
promotion to the Qatar Stars League, recording a big 6-0 victory over El Jaish
in the ninth round match in the Qatargas League on Sunday.
Following a one year stint at QSL giants Al Sadd; the Brazilian notched three
goals ( 40, 65 and 88) to pave the way for an effortless victory which cemented
Al Rayyan's grip over the league's top spot with 27 points.
Ahmed Alaa, Lee Kung and Tahir Zakarya scored the other three goals for the
red and black outfit.
Giving Al Rayyan one more reason to celebrate this week, was Al Markhiya's
2-1 win over title contenders Muaither in an impassioned contest which
saw both sides share four red cards.
Muaither have now slipped to third place with a tally of 21 points, meanwhile
Al Markhiya's 14 points put them in tenth place.
in other matches, Al Gharafa beat Lekhwiya 3-2, while Al Shahaniya recorded
a 5-0 win over Al Ahli.
