MANAMA, BAHRAIN: The under 19 Gulf Football Championship will
be held at Aspire Academy, this was announced at the draw ceremony
of the event on Thursday.
The August 22-September 3 round robin tournament will see teams from
Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia competing for the biannual
title.
The draw ceremony held in Bahrain , was conducted by Mirza Ahmed, General
Secretary of the Local Organizing Committee in the presence of Ali Jassem
Muftah, the Tournament Director.
Muftah welcomed officials before conducting the draw ceremony which also
saw representatives of the participating teams.
"We know we are getting ready for a great event since Qatar is famous for hosting
big events," Muftah said.
It was revealed the team with the highest number of points will emerge winners
with all sides playing against each other once.
Every day two games will be played, the organisers said.
The first game will kick off at 4:00pm while the second match will start at 6:40pm.
Qatar play the UAE on August 24 while Bahrain take on Oman on August 26.
