DOHA: Qatar under 23 sent out a resounding warning of their potential ahead of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup with a 5-2 victory over the United Arab Emirates in a friendly match at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Monday. Ahmed Alaa’ netted twice for the hosts, while Al Muiz Ali, Akram Afif and Mohammed Muntari added one each to the tally. Hussien Abas and Suhail Al Mansouri scored for the UAE. Under the watchful eye of Coach Felix Sanchez, Qatar are undergoing a strenuous training camp from November 1 to 17 as part of Qatar’s preparation for the AFC U-23 Cup to be held in Doha in January 2016. Australia at Grand Hamad Stadium on November 12. A third friendly is scheduled to take place on November 17 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium against African heavyweights Côte d'Ivoire. Another final training camp will commence on December 14 and remain active until the start of the event in January. The top three sides at the Doha event will qualify for the football competition at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games next year.
