DOHA: Aeronautical College(QAC) defeated Georgetown University
School of Foreign Service inQatar(GU-Q)3-2 in the opening football
match of the 2015/2016University League on Thursday. The match
saw goals by QAC’s Mohammed Abdulla Al Hashimi, Mohamed Ali
Al Diyani, and Nasser S Al Khaabi, andGU-Q’s Abdulaziz Al-Buainain
and Owais Khan.
The second match was played at 7pm between the champions of the
last two editions, Qatar University (QU) and Northwestern University
in Qatar (NU-Q). QU beat NU-Q 4-0.
The University League is set to run from 22ndOctober 2015 until 2ndFebruary
2016 in Qatar Foundation’s Recreation Center, on Pitch 1, and matches will
be played every Thursday with one break between the end of November and
mid-January.
