DOHA: Qatar coach Daniel Carreno on Monday said the 2018 FIFA
World Cup clash against Uzbekistan on Tuesday is very 'important'
for his players.
Qatar lost to Iran in their opening Asian Zone clash in Tehran on
Thursday.
"It is an important match for us. We will be playing to win and to get
three points," Carreno said during a press conference.
"To keep hopes of reaching the next round of qualifying, we must win
and we can," he added.
Uzbekistan beat Syria in their opening game.
"We have looked at our game against Iran. We have highlighted the mistakes
we made," Carreno said.
"We have had five days to sit down and assess our position ahead of this
match.
"We have confidence to pick up the points," he added.
Carreno said there could be changes in the playing tactics.
"We played a good match against Iran but you need different sets of
plans for different sides," he said.
"I hope Qatar fans turn out in large numbers. The team needs support
from their fans," Carreno said.
"I know this is a hugely important match for us but I have confidence in
my players," the coach said.
Tonights game will be played at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
