DOHA: Qatar juniors lost 3-1 Uzbekistan in an Olympics squad friendly
at Al Ahli Stadium.
The game was part of Qatar’s preparation plans ahead of the AFC
Under-23 qualifiers to be played in July.
Zubihlio Urenbov scored first for the visitors while Qatar’s Salah
Alihari produced the equalizer.
An intriguing battle was witnessed but both sides walked off the
pitch with a 1-1 card.
The situation changed in the second half, when the Uzbek team
attacked with aggression.
Jasur Yashiboyev and Yazen Naim managed to scored two more
goals for the Uzbek side.
Qatar’s Spanish coach Felix Sanchez made several changes in the
second half to give his players the opportunity to get match practice.
Qatar squad: Yousif Hussein, Salah Al Lahari, Omar Al Emadi, Ahmed
Moin, Mishal Al Shammari, Jasim Al Jalabi, Abdul Rahman Anad, Assem
Madibo, Abdul Aziz Metwally, Abdul Hamid Anad and Khalid Munir.
The Uzbekistan match is part of the new Al-Anabi Olympic Games, which
began on 12 th. The players participated in the day-to-day training.
The team played a number of joint exercises with Annabi. He also had a strong
experience with Al Annabi, who lost 2-1.
The team has played several camps since the end of last year and
played several friendly matches with the teams of Oman, China,
Thailand, Hong Kong and the Qatari national team.
Our team is preparing for the third group qualifying for the AFC U-23
World Cup in Doha next July. The team includes India, Syria and
Turkmenistan. The finals will be held in China in January 2018.
The Olympic team will play a second friendly on 28 December in Doha
against the Canadian team.
