DOHA: Al Markhiya have increased their points lead in Qatargas League
following a comprehensive 6-0 win against Al Shahaniya in week 11.
The goal-fest, that helped Al Markhiya to have a tally of 33 points,
was played at Soud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakra.
Al Shahaniya's Abdulrahman Al Jassem was sent off in th 68th minute
much to dismay of the losing side following a second yellow card in
the game.
Despite the loss, Al Shahniya still enjoy a four-point lead over Qatar SC.
Mohammed Tiyabahm Amir, Ahmed Mubarak and Ali Ferris scored the goals
for Al Markhiya.
In another game, Al Shamal beat Umm Salal 3-1 who now have a tally of 31 points.
Sultan Suleiman opened the scoring for Al Shamal in the 35th minute
before Adel Walid of Umm Salal equalised in the 40th minute. Two late
goals by Faid Habayah (70 and 90) sealed the deal for Al Shamal.
In another match, Al Sailiyah beat Al Gharafa 4-3.Al Sailiyah was in
the lead in the first half at 3-2 after goals by Saeed Al Marri (26
and 36).
Fahad Marri (38) scored for Al Gharafa as did Hammam Al Ameen(15 and
55). Al Sailiya now have a tally of 15 points while Al Gharafa remain
pegged back at 6.
In other games, Al Wakrah crushed El Jaish 5-1 while Al Kharaitiyat
edged Muaither 2-1,
Al Kharaitiyat have 15 points while Muaither now have 10.
