KUWAIT CITY: Qatar coach Felix Sanchez in Tuesday said his team will fight hard in their third and final Gulf Cup match on Friday.
A win against Bahrain on Friday could seal Qatar a semifinal berth.
On Tuesday Iraq edged past Qatar 2-1 in a Group B clash at Kuwait Sports Club Stadium.
"We still have a game in hand. It was a good fight by my players," Sanchez said after the match on Tuesday.
"We will now turn our attention to the game against Bahrain," he added.
"This is football. You get such results.
"I am sure the players will fight again in the last game of this stage. We are still in the competition," coach Sanchez said after the match.
"It was a tough game. My players will be ready for the game against Bahrain. They are professionals and know how to play such key games," the Spaniard added.
