TASHKENT: Qatar striker Meshal Abdullah on Tuesday said his side did
not deserve to lose against Uzbekistan at Bunyodkor Stadium, insisting
his team had battled hard.
On Tuesday, Odil Ahmedov’s second-half free-kick helped Uzbekistan
seal a vital 1-0 victory over a resolute Qatar side at Bunyodkor
Stadium.
"We fought hard. We could have done better but we did not deserve to
lose," Abdullah said after the loss.
"The game plan was to fight all the way and we did that.
Unfortunately, we couldn't come off with a positive result. There was
a lot of intensity on the pitch," he added.
"God Willing, we will keep improving and we will stay positive," Abdullah
said.
It was Qatar's - coached by Jorge Fossati - second loss following
their loss against Iran at Al Sadd Stadium last Thursday.
