Futsal competitions are set to resume after a six-year hiatus, starting with the Cup competition on October 15, 2025. The League championship will then follow in December of the same year. Together, these two tournaments will serve as a vital platform for discovering futsal talent and will act as a foundation for rebuilding the national futsal team.
The Cup competition for the 2025-2026 sports season, in its 8th edition, kicked off on October 15, 2025. The draw placed Al Shamal, Al Arabi, Al Wakrah, and Al Gharafa in the first group, while the second group includes the teams of Al Ahli, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, and Qatar SC.
The competition format stipulates that the first and second-place teams from each group advance to the semi-finals. The two winners then progress to the final match.
The QFA Futsal Cup competition was first held in its inaugural 2008-2009 season. Al Sadd won the title that year and now leads the list of most successful teams with four titles, compared to two for Al Rayyan and one for Al Khor. Al Rayyan holds the title for the seventh edition from the 2015-2016 season, the last one held before the pause.
