Al Ahli Maintains Olympic League's Lead

Doha : With a narrow margin of just five points separating the top seven teams, the Olympic League season continues to be fiercely competitive.

Following the conclusion of the eighth round of matches, Al Ahli secured its lead in the standings with a 2-0 victory over Al Sailiya, bringing its total to 16 points. Al Rayyan remains in second place with 14 points after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Al Sadd. Al Duhail also holds 14 points in third after a decisive 4-0 win over Al Gharafa. Al Wakrah, despite a loss, holds fourth with 13 points, while Al Shamal is fifth with 12 points.

 

Other notable results included Al Shahaniya's 2-1 victory over Al Arabi, Qatar SC 2-1 win over Al Wakrah, and Umm Salal's narrow 4-3 triumph over Al Shamal. The league table sees Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, and Qatar SC all tied with 11 points, occupying the sixth, seventh, and eighth positions respectively. Umm Salal follows in ninth with 9 points, Al Shahaniya is tenth with 7, and Al Arabi and Al Sailiya are at the bottom with 6 points each.

 

The competition will now pause before resuming with the ninth round on December 19th.
